We stellen jullie kort voor aan Fred Odekerken en Giel van Kaam.

Fred begon vijftig jaar geleden als verzorger bij het eerste team van de toenmalige Smoke Eaters. Uit die tijd zijn vriendschappen voor het leven ontstaan met diverse  ex-spelers, waar hij nog steeds contact mee heeft. Hij is ook nog jeugdcoach van diverse jeugdteams geweest en werd met het B-team zelfs een keer kampioen van Nederland. Hij is door het bestuur benaderd om als assistent teammanager Danny Peters jr te ondersteunen en heeft er zin in.

Fred weet zich gesteund door zijn vrouw en twee dochters die net als hij fan zijn van deze prachtige sport en van Snackpoint Eaters Limburg. Danny en Fred gaan zich inzetten om er, als onderdeel van de technische staf samen met het team een mooi seizoen van te maken en gaan (na een eerste kennismakingsgesprek vorige week) snel met elkaar om tafel om het “hoe en wat” te bespreken.

Giel van Kaam heeft in de zeventiger- en begin tachtiger jaren vier jaar het toenmalige D-team van Smoke Eaters gecoacht. In dat team speelden toen onder andere Marcel Houben, Jacques Geurts, Hans Baggen en ja… ook ons huidig bestuurslid technische zaken Peter Knops.Van 2009 tot 2011 heeft Giel een bestuursfunctie vervuld als secretaris. Hij is al vanaf half jaren zeventig fan, mist bijna nooit een wedstrijd en geniet samen met zijn zoon van deze boeiende en vaak spectaculaire sport. Hij gaat zich, als lid van de werkgroep communicatie bezighouden met communicatie in de breedste zin des woords. Ook hij kijkt uit naar een mooi seizoen van Snackpoint Eaters Limburg met hopelijk veel fans die weer ouderwets kunnen genieten van dit mooie spelletje.
