Terugkeer Matt Beer bij Snackpoint Eaters Limburg is definitief

Het zat al een tijdje in de lucht en de oplettende supporter zag al een en ander voorbij komen op verschillende social media’s maar vanaf zondag 21-11 is het officieel dat Matthew weer deel mag uitmaken van de selectie.

Twee weken geleden al landde hij op Schiphol, maar het heeft tot nu geduurd alvorens de benodigde papieren in orde waren. Matt Beer keer terug bij Snackpoint Eaters Limburg en gaat het team versterken.

Hij werd geboren op 20-04-1990 in Sarnia, Ontario Canada en is een sterke en ervaren allround speler.

Matt Beer kwam in het seizoen 2018-2019 voor het eerst naar Geleen. Matt is een 31-jarige speler met een Canadese en Brits paspoort die zowel als aanvaller maar ook als verdediger kan worden opgesteld. Het is aan de technische staf om te bepalen welke positie en waar Matt zal worden ingezet.

Zoals jullie weten beschikt Matt over een goed, snel en vooral hard schot. Hij scoort makkelijk zoals we in het seizoen 2018-2019 al konden zien.

Scorend vermogen is belangrijk voor elk ijshockeyteam.

Matt speelde een aantal seizoenen, en ook het begin van dit seizoen, in de SPHL (Southern Professional Hockey League) en kwam voor het eerst naar Europa in 2018.

Het seizoen erna was hij ook toegevoegd aan de selectie maar moest toen wegens persoonlijke omstandigheden al vroeg in het seizoen terug naar Canada. Aanvankelijk zou Matt ook in seizoen 2020-2021 aansluiten bij de selectie maar dat seizoen werd natuurlijk door Covid-19 niet gespeeld.

Matt is in shape zoals dat zo mooi heet en zal ongetwijfeld een versterking van ons team zijn. We heten Matt weer van harte welkom in Geleen en zijn blij dat hij in het team van Snackpoint Eaters gaat spelen.
