Waar de Nederlandse clubs nog in gesprek waren over een doorstart van de BeNe League met IJNL, hakken de Belgische clubs gesteund door hun federatie, de knoop door en sluiten zich aan de Duitse Regionaal Liga.

Deze liga zal nu uit 10 teams bestaan en eind september starten.

Ondertussen zijn de 5 NL clubs (Geleen, Tilburg, Heerenveen, Zoetermeer en Den Haag) nog in gesprek met de bond. Als de NL clubs zich ook eventueel willen aansluiten bij de Regional Liga dan zal IJNL de clubs 'vrij' moeten geven.
